Program Note:   

Despite serving as the End Title to my operafilm Orson Rehearsed (2018), the Charlie referred to in the title is not Charles Foster Kane but rather Charlie Chaplin, as the theme itself is drawn from several original instrumental scores I’ve provided over the years as a sort of summer composer’s holiday to silent Charlie Chaplin films for the Wintergreen Music Festival. I’ve grown very attached to the tune, and am grateful for the debt that it owes to my childhood hero, Scott Joplin.
