The Lincoln Piano Trio makes its sixth appearance in the Music at Oakmont chamber music series. The season opens on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 p.m. in Berger Center. Described by Strad magazine as “sensational” and “bewitching,” and by Gramophone magazine as “models of vibrancy and control,” the Lincoln Trio is made up of Desirée Ruhstrat, violin; David Cunliffe, cello; and Marta Aznavoorian, piano. Each member is an artist of international renown. The trio has performed throughout the U.S., including appearances at Ravinia Festival, Green Center, Barge Music, the Indianapolis Symphony Beethoven Chamber Music Series, and in Springfield, Illinois, where the trio was chosen to celebrate the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial with President Barack Obama. International engagements include concerts throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.
For their Oakmont appearance the Lincoln Trio has chosen works by Gabriel Fauré, Astor Piazzolla, Johannes Brahms, and the multiple award-winning American composer Daron Hagen. For program notes as well as more information about Music at Oakmont, visit www.musicatoakmont.org.
