Hagen family images accompany a performance by the Finisterra Piano Trio of Daron Hagen's arrangement of the classic hymn, "Wayfaring Stranger," excerpted from a live performance of his Piano Trio No. 3.
The Finisterra Piano Trio makes a triumphant return to the Seasons Performance Hall in Yakima, WA to perform a recital which includes the Piano Trio No. 3 ("Wayfaring Stranger") commissioned for the trio by the Seasons in 2007 and premiered there that fall.
The trio premiered Hagen's Piano Trio No. 4 a year later in the same hall, and ultimately recorded all four Hagen trios in the hall for Naxos records. This homecoming, featuring cellist Kevin Krentz pianist Tanya Stambuk, and violinist Brittany Boulding Breeden, offers a rare opportunity to hear the trio's definitive interpretation of the work.
