Violinist Ross Monroe Winter is joined by pianist Charles Staples in a doctoral dissertation lecture recital at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Together they are premiering the composer's transcription for violin and piano of his Songbook: Concerto for Violin, String Orchestra, Harp, and Percussion originally commissioned (and premiered by) the Buffalo Philharmonic for violinist Michael Ludwig and conductor JoAnn Falletta. Currently nominated for a Grammy, their recording is available on the Belle fleur label.

"Special thanks to Ross Monroe Winter for dissertating on the concerto and prompting me to finally sit down and finish the transcription," says Hagen. "I can't wait to hear them perform it."
